Christmas shopping in Horsham

Southwark Aquatics swimmers did a bit of shopping in Horsham over the weekend. However, its shopping for medals, PBs and county times.

The team took part in the 2 day Christmas Cracker open meet held by Atlantis swimming club. Before the competition, some of the swimmers ventured into Horsham town centre to do some sight seeing (pictured Charlie, Shania, Jessie, Sophia, Zivile and Freya).

The pre-competition time off certainly paid dividends with some amazing swims. In total the swimmers came away with 52 PBs, 12 County times, 13 club records, 10 Gold, 10 Silver and 6 Bronze medals.

Natasha and Amelia picked up the most county times with 4 and 3 (respectively). Also county times for Alex, Jack, Maria and Freya.

The youngest swimmer there was Sophia (9) who came away with an amazing 4 new club record for her age group (50 Breast, 100 Back, Breast and Free).

Amelia and Natasha set new all time records in the 50 Back and 100 IM (respectively). Amelia also broke the clubs 100 Back 13 yrs old record which has stood since 2005.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable weekend, so much that some swimmers have already booked their hotels for 2016.
