Redbridge Early County Qualifier 2016

After a long summer break, the new season starts off with a trip to east London in Ilford for the Redbridge early county open meet held at Fullwell Cross Leisure centre.

The meet was held over two days and a good chance for some of the swimmers to gain early county times.

Welcome to the club to Anastassia who joins Southwark Aquatics over the summer and her first competitive swim for the club was just amazing. Swimming in 7 events, Anastassia gained 6 county times, 2 regional times and also set a new club record in the 400 Freestyle in the process. What a way to start a new club!

There were also county times for Freya (3), Sophia (3), Jessie (2), Maria (2), Alex, Megan and Natasha.

Jessie also set regional qualifying times in the 50 and 100 breast.

There were also new age group club records for Alex (100 back), Jessie (50 breast) and Freya (50 breast). Freya's new record broke the previous one which had stood for over 8 years.

Sylvie our youngest swimmer at the meet swam her first times in the 100 breast and 100 free and also set new PBs in the 50 back and 50 free.

There were also good personal bests set by Ellis, Finn, Marco, Molly, Shania, Teddy and Zivile.

With an overall 95% PB rate, it has been an amazing start to the new season. Lets keep this going!
